This session presents two examples of Japanese Lesson Study used to build teacher capacity in literacy instruction through a structured cycle of collaboration. Participants will examine how school leaders in elementary and middle school contexts guided teachers through collaborative lesson planning, observation, and reflection to strengthen instruction aligned with high-quality literacy materials. Attendees will leave with concrete strategies for leading lesson study as a job-embedded approach to instructional improvement and teacher learning.
